  • Core watercolor techniques: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, washes, gradients, lifting, and simple layering.

  • Color mixing and value: how to create different hues, tints, and tonal contrasts.

  • Composition and planning: simple sketching, focal points, and arranging elements on the page.

  • Creative expression: exploring texture, mark-making, and personal style while practicing control and patience.

Workshop structure

  • Welcome and demo: brief introduction to materials and a step-by-step demonstration of a simple painting.

  • Guided practice: children try specific techniques with instructor support and individual guidance.

  • Main project: students plan a small composition and complete a finished watercolor painting.

  • Sharing and positive feedback: group reflection, gentle critique, and encouragement to celebrate each child’s work.
