This hands-on interior design workshop introduces children to the basics of designing and decorating spaces in a fun, creative, and age-appropriate way. Through guided activities and playful exploration, children learn how colors, shapes, furniture, and textures work together to create inviting interiors. Each participant finishes the session with their own completed design project.
Introduction to interior design: what interior designers do and how spaces are planned for comfort, function, and style.
Color and mood: how different colors affect feelings and how to combine them harmoniously.
Furniture and layout: understanding scale, placement, and how to arrange furniture in a room.
Materials and textures: exploring fabrics, surfaces, patterns, and how they change the look of a space.
Creative expression: developing personal style while practicing observation, decision-making, and problem-solving.
Welcome and inspiration: friendly introduction with visual examples of different room styles and ideas.
Design basics demo: simple explanation of layout, color choices, and how to plan a room.
Guided practice: children experiment with colors, furniture cut-outs, textures, and layouts with individual support.
Main project: each child designs their own room (such as a bedroom or playroom) using drawing, collage, or a mood board.
Sharing and positive feedback: group discussion to present designs, encourage confidence, and celebrate creativity.

Duration: 90 minutes (adjustable for group needs)
Group size: small groups to ensure focused attention and individual help
Materials: all design materials provided; children may bring an apron or wear clothes that can get messy
